SafetyRecognized as a "Leader Contractor"SPEER MECHANICAL is committed to improving safety in the workplace. Led by Fred Bothwell, Speer Safety Coordinator, our Safety Program has delivered safety training and incentives to its field personnel and improved company-wide safety awareness. The Comprehensive Safety Program has three major components: training, incentives and consequences. The program is a strategic attempt to change the culture in the field and the attitudes of those managing field personnel. Foremen, project managers and division managers all must accept responsibility for incidents in the field. Through a combination of extensive safety training, incentives, and swift consequences for violations, Speer has pushed the safety effort forward. Speer is striving for continuous improvement in its safety initiative. New hires receive training as part of their orientation, and veteran employees receive periodic safety refresher courses. Speer has partnered with OSHA, The Builders Exchange of Central Ohio and the Bureau of Workers Compensation to continue to expand its safety program |
