Case Study: Ionization Installed in Manufacturing Facility
“We need to turn the plant back on.” That was the message our Director of Operations received from a long-time automotive manufacturing customer in Southern Ohio. It was June 2020 and local work from home directives were ending.
The customer was concerned about maintaining a healthy work environment for shift workers in break areas, locker rooms and production areas of the plant.
Our team worked closely with our customers’ environmental consultant, Auburn Environmental Services (AES), to evaluate several technologies. The result was installation of Global Plasma Solution’s (GPS) iMOD modules. GPS has defined itself in the ionization category through third-party testing and thought leadership of its management team.
Before the plant installed the GPS system, AES did a pre-test/post-test evaluation in a sample area. The area was tested before the evaluation and it contained high concentrations of surface microbiological contamination. After using the GPS system in the sample area, no detectable concentrations of microbiological contamination were measured. The 24-hour test run of the GPS product also resulted in zero Ozone, zero VOC’s and positive and negative ion concentrations averaging more than 49,000. The successful pilot has led to additional projects within the plant and expansion to other locations within the corporation.
